Emergence of a Centre of Excellence in Cancer Research and Innovation

In the heart of the Bièvre Scientific Valley, just minutes from Paris and Orly, and near the future Grand Paris Express interchange station between lines 14 and 15, the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC), the developer SADEV 94, and their partners are committed to accelerating the development of the Campus Grand Parc district dedicated to oncology innovation in Villejuif.

It is in this context that Spark was developed by our teams at Bart | Patriarche and designed in an open and collaborative approach with the RAUM architecture studio, near the Gustave Roussy Institute, an internationally renowned medical centre for cancer research and treatment.

An Innovative Programme Focused on Digital Health Research

The emergence of digital health, data work, interpretative and generative AI, and more broadly the paradigm shift towards predictive medicine necessitates rethinking the real estate and service offerings in this sector.

Within the international ecosystem of Gustave Roussy, Spark offers an alternative perfectly aligned with the expectations of researchers and companies in the sector by providing technological platforms.

These platforms are designed to accommodate any research and entrepreneurial activity that does not require daily manipulation in a controlled laboratory environment. Prototyping, localized computing power and data interpretation, precision biomechanics, small workshops, immersive or VR rooms… the technological platforms can quickly and cost-effectively adapt to all the demands of tomorrow’s researchers and entrepreneurs.

In addition to these strategic spaces, Spark also includes a reception area, a service centre, a café and restaurant, a health centre in connection with the Gustave Roussy Institute, and modular spaces that can host various types of events.

A Catalyst for Connections and Open to the Outside

Conceived as a genuine living space and meeting place for users, professionals, students, researchers, and local residents, Spark aims to meet the expectations and needs of every Campus user. It offers a highly capable and flexible programme dedicated to oncology and the broader health sector, blending economic development with public open spaces.

With a programme aimed at both companies wishing to establish themselves within the building and the needs of businesses and institutions already present on the campus, everyone will find work tools that adapt to a wide variety of configurations. Users can come to work, dine, entertain, relax, learn, receive medical care, and connect with others.

The entire building will be managed and operated by Walter | Patriarche, who will also ensure the scientific animation of the site for local businesses.

Une conception responsable

Benefiting from a Bioclimatic Design, Spark also promotes the use of environmentally friendly materials, including the construction of a low-carbon concrete exoskeleton and the use of bricks from a reuse supply chain.

Compliant with RE2020, it aims for the excellent level of BREEAM certification.
